JAECOO 7 FAQs

The JAECOO 7 is a five-seat family SUV offering distinctive styling, a generously equipped interior and a choice of petrol, self-charging hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

It is positioned as an alternative to models including the Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Nissan Qashqai, MG HS and Volkswagen Tiguan.

JAECOO is part of the Chery automotive group. The brand was introduced to the UK with a focus on premium-looking SUVs, modern technology and competitive pricing.

Yes. The JAECOO 7 is available with two different hybrid systems:

  • The SHS-H is a self-charging hybrid that does not need to be plugged in.
  • The SHS-P is a plug-in hybrid with a larger battery and up to 56 miles of official electric range.

A conventional petrol version is also available.

SHS-H is a self-charging hybrid. It uses a small battery and electric motor to assist the petrol engine, with the system managing charging automatically.

SHS-P is a plug-in hybrid. It has a larger battery that can be charged externally and allows suitable journeys to be completed using electric power.

The SHS-H may suit drivers without access to charging, while the SHS-P is most beneficial when charged regularly.

The JAECOO 7 SHS-P offers up to 56 miles of official WLTP electric range.

Real-world range will vary depending on driving style, speed, temperature, traffic, battery condition, vehicle load and the use of heating or air conditioning.

Using a compatible AC charger, charging from 25–100% takes approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes.

The SHS-P also supports DC charging at up to 40kW, allowing a 30–80% charge in approximately 20 minutes under suitable conditions.

Yes. The JAECOO 7 SHS-P supports DC charging at up to 40kW.

Charging performance may vary according to the charger, battery temperature, starting charge level and operating conditions.

No. The SHS-H is a self-charging hybrid and cannot normally be connected to an external charger.

The system recovers energy while driving and braking, using this stored energy to assist the petrol engine.

Four-wheel drive is available on selected petrol versions of the JAECOO 7. The SHS-H and SHS-P hybrid models are currently front-wheel drive.

Model availability and specifications can change, so the latest configuration should be confirmed before ordering.

The JAECOO 7 provides 500 litres of luggage capacity with the rear seats upright.

Folding the rear seats increases the available space to as much as 1,265 litres, making it suitable for family luggage and everyday equipment.

The JAECOO 7 has five seats. It is not currently available as a seven-seat SUV.

Customers requiring additional seating may wish to consider a larger model such as the JAECOO 8 or another seven-seat SUV.

Yes. The JAECOO 7 includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing compatible smartphones to connect to the infotainment system.

Screen size and additional technology will depend on the selected trim.

The JAECOO 7 has achieved a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating and includes a broad range of active safety and driver-assistance systems.

Available features include autonomous emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, traffic-sign recognition and rear cross-traffic assistance.

Every new JAECOO comes with a seven-year or 100,000-mile manufacturer warranty, whichever occurs first. Hybrid high-voltage batteries receive separate cover for eight years or 100,000 miles, subject to the manufacturer’s terms and exclusions.

The JAECOO 7 SHS-P may appeal to company-car drivers because its plug-in hybrid powertrain offers a useful electric range and lower official emissions than the petrol model.

The actual Benefit-in-Kind tax payable will depend on the model’s P11D value, official CO₂ emissions, electric range and the driver’s personal tax position.

Yes. JAECOO 7 business leasing may be available to limited companies, sole traders and partnerships through Business Contract Hire and other suitable funding arrangements.

All applications are subject to status, availability and the selected funder’s requirements.

You will make an initial rental followed by fixed monthly payments for the agreed contract period.

A standard lease normally includes use of the vehicle for the agreed period and mileage. Road tax is generally included for the duration of the contract, subject to the funder’s terms.

Insurance, fuel, charging, servicing, maintenance and replacement tyres are not normally included unless a maintenance package has been selected.

Yes. JAECOO 7 lease agreements can usually be tailored around your anticipated annual mileage, preferred initial rental and contract length.

Selecting a realistic mileage allowance is important because excess-mileage charges may apply if the agreed total is exceeded.
