The SmarTrack Trident has been tested to the Thatcham S7 standard. The device operates using GPS/GLONASS, GPRS and GSM technology. Having an internal battery backup, the device can remain operational even when the vehicle’s power supply is removed.

What’s the difference between CAT 5 & CAT 7 Tracker?

The S7 Tracker is the starting point for Thatcham approved vehicle trackers. It provides a 24hr monitoring system and will alert you when your vehicle is being stollen.

The S5 Tracker adds more security with the addition of Automatic Driver Recognition (ADR).

The ADR is either an app on your phone or a key fob. When you enter your vehicle the ADR is detected and knows that you are driving the vehicle.

This is constantly being monitored by the control centre so should the vehicle be moved with out the ADR it will alert the control room staff who will be know that the vehicle is being moved and can determine if the car is being stollen.

This helps so even if your keys are stollen or cloned the Control room staff will know.

24/7 Monitoring

Both S5 & S7 trackers are monitored 24 hours and in the event of a theft, you will be alerted and the staff at the control room can guide the police directly to the vehicle, using the real-time tracking technology built into the Trackers.

Global Coverage

With S5 & S7 trackers you have Global coverage so even if you take your vehicle aboard you are still protected. This also help if the vehicle is stollen as it can be traced anywhere in the world.

Driver Recognition

A requirement of the S5 Thatcham criteria, the device must be accompanied by a system to verify the driver of the vehicle is an authorised user. With the Driver Detection card you will be contacted by Global Telemetrics dedicated control centre if the Driver Detection card is not within the vehicle, switched on or when being transported on a trailer or by other means.

The online account also includes features such as Geofences and access to data reports. The online account is paired with a mobile app so that you can access the vehicle’s location at any time.

Immobilisation

The S5+ device includes an immobilisation element to the tracking device. Every time you switch the ignition off the vehicle will be immobilised. To mobilise the vehicle you will need to have a Driver Detection card within the vehicle to start.
